Hi, Sara,
I am so excited for my district has accepted my offer to 'host' the webinar Storytelling Web 2.0 you are doing for NCTE as part of the 'approved' professional development . We are going to extend it a bit pre and post making it a two hour offering. I am developing an anticipatory activity and wondering if we could chat about what all to include. I have some ideas from other presentations I have done for PCTELA.
Hope you will be attending NCTE Philly too????
Will you be at the NECC conference at the end of June in DC? http://center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2009/
I would love to meet you there! (My former professor Bill Sanders is at Virginia Tech.)
Hi, Sara,
When you have a moment, would you visit Hannah Gerber's web page here in the NING community? I'm working with Hannah this year as part of the CEE Mentor Match program, and Hannah is concentrating her efforts on digital story-telling. She's read your work and would be most appreciative if she could make this connection and learn from you. You might inquire about what she's doing with digital story-telling and how and why she's doing it, and...well, you know, the usual stuff. Thanks much, Sara. You're the best...
Sure! I'm online most of the time;-) Email: turtlesteach@yahoo.com. I will be at NCTE (am every year) and presenting on some work from the NCTE Media Literacy award last year.
Hey, Sara,
Okay, I have another one for you. She's Abigail Kennedy -- a former student of mine who is teaching now and using "Star Wars" technology in her classroom to make learning happen in wonderfully worthwhile and engaging and innovative ways. When you have a moment between crises and commitments, would you visit Abby's page here and view her brief video that's posted there? It shows what she's doing with her students and iPods and it just looks terrific. If you, too, think that she's onto something insightful, perhaps you could connect with her and get her moving even farther into educational cyberspace. She deserves your counsel and guidance, I think. And we're talkin' some awfully serious chocolate for this one. Thanks, Sara.
Hi Sara! Dr. Golub sent me to you. He swears you're the tech expert around here :)
I'm working on implementing use of the iPod Touch with the incoming freshmen at a private business university in Michigan. I'm coming across a number of roadblocks and could use some ideas. Do you have any suggestions or resources you are willing to share?
I really hope we get to see one another at NCTE! I'm hungry for kid-pics, and to hear how life is treating you. Still remembering some of our DC conversations! See you in San Antonio!!
Hey Chris! Well, over the past two years I've been collaborating with a professor at The State University of New York, which is a few miles from my high school. Her pre-service English teachers (seniors and graduate students) led online book clubs...
My biggest challenge is that students fluent in neighboring districts are suddenly not legally fluent in our district, as it is determined by our state through formalized test scores that students need more English in our community than in neighbo...
