So far there has been no response from NCTE in any form since the postings on the website of the Washington Post. The bottom line remains:
NCTE has approved of a plan that calls for
(1) Explicit, systematic teaching of literacy as the only path.

Approximately 8 million students in grades 4-12 are reading below grade level. Limited literacy skills cause 3,000 students to drop out of high school every day.

Can I post your brainyflix contest stuff to the PA School Press website? I have writing privileges at the site. WE have 1300 high schools in PA.

MIT university is trying to build a free resource to help kids learn SAT/ACT thru the power of user-generated images and video. We are currently running a nationwide contest, challenging kids to make fun and memorable flashcards by pairing sentences and images to a common test word. There will be a small cash prize and iTunes giveaways. Due date is May 22.

It sounds like you have done some fascinating things! Do you want to meet after your session on Friday? I have it in my scheduler to attend.
Will you be showing any of the handheld uses during your session? I think there is a "wireless tablet" room....my notes say 214A...throughout the conference. ISTE is also helping with programming, via the local Education Service Center in San Antonio, I'm told.
