Carol, I just read your White Paper and I think you are spot on. In my mind, writing is incredibly important because it prompts writers to think. Literary analysis teaches the analyst how to interpret events and other phenomena. We can't understand…

Gatsby on Google Earth

Do you use technology in your classroom?

How do you use it?

Hi Andrew, CEL is the Conference on English Leadership, a constituent group of NCTE. In a nut shell, the Conference on English Leadership (CEL) is a collaborative, dynamic, discussion-based forum for English language arts leaders to explore current and emerging issues. CEL welcomes the involvement of all persons who wish to work with others to seek solutions to problems and to share their special insights with others. Leaders of English programs in a variety of settings--rural or urban, small districts or large, public or private, traditional or experimental--will find a vibrant forum for exploring contrasting and controversial ideas within CEL. To join or learn more, please go to www.ncte.org/cel. I hope this information helps. Of course, if you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Lynette, I've also been to a lecture given by Mrs. Jago and have to agree whole heartedly with your assessment of her work. She is one of several whose message helps keep me renewed as an educator.
