I am teaching 10th and 11th grade English in a new engineering academy in Florida. What advice do you have regarding curriculum for my students. 10th Grade is World Lit and 11th Grade is American Lit. I want to keep my teaching relevant to their career interest. I have had them do a process report with graphs and analysis of their experiment with the Contemporary History teacher. Earlier I had them do research an ancient engineering process or invention, create a scale model or drawing and then evaluate how the device, process and materials may have changed since the concept/invention was created.
Any suggestions or advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Kathy and Stephen...what can I say except, "Wow!" The both of you went through a lot of effort, and that is most appreciated. Democracy in my mind is an action word.
