Event Description

As you may know, my brave and wonderful husband, Michael, has been fighting for the past six months to cure a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Although he is still receiving chemo, his last scan showed "no evidence of disease" and we are celebrating this victory together. We feel it is now time to "give back" and provide others with an opportunity to overcome this terrible diagnosis. Research must be funded so that scientists can at last find a cure for this disease.

On November 8, 2009, Mike, my daughter, Sandi, and I are participating in an event for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a non-profit organization working to advance research, support patients and create hope for those affected by pancreatic cancer. The organization funds research grants, provides information and resources to patients and their families at no cost, pushes for increased federal research funding and educates the public about this disease.

Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States, yet it receives less funding per patient than other leading cancer killers. Your support helps the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network fulfill its mission and provides hope to the over 37,000 Americans who will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year.

Please visit my personal page to learn more. If you would like to "join our team" and walk with us, that would be wonderful! If you are not available, we thank you, in advance, for any donation you might make to support our efforts. Go to www.pancan.org/Manhattan. Our team name is Feet-2-beat PanCan.
